2022 Year in Review

PALS SkyHope medical flights

2022 was a year for the books for PALS SkyHope. With thousands of flights fulfilled across the country and breaking the company record for donations this year, PALS was able to double its outreach efforts and provide free medical and/or supportive flights to those in need.

PALS SkyHope has been busy working to break down transportation barriers and has been able to fly over 2,400 in 2022 alone (28,000 in total). We couldn’t have done it without the help of our wonderful donors, pilots, and staff.

2022 Outreach

We’re so excited about our partners and their most thoughtful help over this past year. Our partners help spread the PALS message and provide critical flights for those in need. NORD, for example, just named PALS SkyHope one of their favorite nonprofits to work with. We take pride in partnering with NORD to spread their word about rare disease and their important day of giving ‘rare disease day’.

2022 Grants

Businesses and charitable foundations have seen and deeply understood the vital work PALS SkyHope accomplishes. This year PALS has been awarded large grants from foundations including; Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, Maine Cancer Foundation, and the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation, to name a few. These three grants alone brought in over $300,000 that will be used to expand the PALS mission and help provide more life-changing flights.

2022 Events & Awards

Fisher Service Award: PALS SkyHope’s Executive Director, Donna Collins accepted the Fisher Service Award on 10/26/22. The Fisher House chose PALS as the nonprofit to receive the top prize of $90,000 for the outstanding work we do for veterans across the country. This money will help us expand our reach and enable us to offer more flights than ever in order to support our great military personnel. Whether it’s for health care, to help bring home their service dog, or to moral boosting events. PALS takes care of veterans and all active military personnel because they put their lives on the line everyday whilst in service to take care of us.

PALS SkyHope GalaThe Gala on 11/3/22, was a huge success. It was a moving evening and tears were indeed shed when stories were shared from two young passengers, whom PALS was able to support. The Gala was our largest event of the year and due to our generous sponsors and donors it was the most impactful in PALS’ 12 years, bringing in around $600,000.

NYC Marathon: On 11/6/22, for the 7th year in a row, PALS has been selected as an official charity partner of the NYC Marathon and we are thrilled to have our largest team yet! Our 57 runners and their supporters were able to raise upwards of $198,000! We are so grateful for our team and look forward to seeing more runners representing PALS at the 2023 marathon.

Onward!

Reflecting back on 2022 and all that PALS SkyHope accomplished has been nothing short of rewarding, but now we must look towards 2023. With a full heart we are excited to jump right into 2023 and fill it with hope for our medical patients, veterans, active military personnel and those affected by natural disasters.

As always, we greatly appreciate your ongoing support! If you are considering donating, please visit our donation webpage.

You have the power to make critical flights happen

To help a child battling a medical illness get a free flight to a doctor who can save their life. To connect a wounded veteran with a service dog. When you donate to PALS SkyHope, you support people fighting for their lives, and pilots using their skills for the greater good. SkyHope pilots have flown more than 30,000 free missions, lifting the burden for families. With your help, the sky’s the limit for how many missions we can fly and how many lives we can impact. Help us continue to make these flights possible
