We are thrilled to announce that The Alexion Charitable Foundation (ACF) recently awarded Patient Airlift Services (PALS) a grant of $100K to support our mission of providing free medical flights to the community of people living with Rare Diseases.
“This is the beginning of our partnership with ACF and we’re extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue to expand our free medical flights to the rare disease community. With this funding, we will provide at least 285 free flights from now through 2022 for individuals living with Rare Diseases. This includes air travel for medical care, or to attend Rare Disease events and conferences.”
The Alexion Charitable Foundation’s grant to PALS will support our critical missions which include many moving parts. From the plane and pilot, to the mission coordinators and ground crew. It takes a considerable amount of resources to organize a medical flight for people who need to travel to a hospital or medical facility to receive treatment for a Rare Disease or other medical issues. This grant helps PALS to provide these services all free of charge to those people who need it most.
